Who has not been happy with your results from exercising, eating or not exercising or just not eating well! The hard reality is that it takes hyper-vigilance to get results that will make a difference.
- My first recommendation is to start a food diary-today. Being mindful of what you put in your mouth and body can be so revealing!
- Also, muscle weighs more than fat. See/feel how your clothes fit, instead of using the scale as your measurement.
- If you expend more calories than you take in, you lose weight. PERIOD. There has been some information circulating about combining foods for weight loss, but I honestly think you need to create a food eating plan that you can live with for the rest of your life. It isn’t always easy.
- Lastly, the latest guidelines from the American College of Sports Medicine-(the gold standard in the fitness world) recommends engaging in moderate amounts of physical activity on most, PREFERABLY ALL, days of the week. And increasing intensities will elicit even greater cardioprotective benefits—I spoke about this in one of my messages. Nothing beats interval training.
- PLEASE do not get discouraged!
- Unfortunately, as we age, the work becomes harder! SORRY!
- BUT that doesn’t mean we can’t get in the best shape of our life. It just takes work-that simple. DON’T give up!
